February to end Rainy

After 1.01″ of rain fell at the airport on Wednesday, February 2015 moved to 7th place for precipitation with 7.55″ for the month to date. Since records began in 1949, only 6 Februarys were wetter, including last year’s with 8.08″. These heavy rains Wednesday morning were followed by strong westerly winds with a peak gust to 38kts (44mph) at the airport.

More rain is expected on Saturday to end the month on a wet note. The most recent model guidance indicates around 0.50″ of rain is expected on Saturday as a cold front inches across the area from northwest to southeast with scattered showers and rain.
